Music Identity.

Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of Brent Faiyaz. “Trust” is my favorite song at the moment. It starts off slowly with a low pitched sound that awakens sadness previously experienced.. I heard this song when I was going through a heartbreak so it hits home whenever I want a soundtrack to reminisce on my past. Music sculptured who I am today to be honest. If you’re asking yourself, ” How is that possible ? ” Here’s how… I’ll literally go from “Trust” to “Summer in London” same artist, Brent Faiyaz; immediately I go from depression to oppression.. there’s a part where he says, ” Don’t come around, if you ain’t close to me, I ain’t built like them, you gotta work for me, just cause I haunt you that don’t mean I want you, you got some high hopes ” that line makes reminds me that I’m the asset rather than the liability. Some of the qualities that makes me a fan of his music is the quality and attention to detail in every song.

Here’s a link to a playlist I created.

Another artist I’ve been listening to heavily is J. Cole.. that new album has me wanting to fix my life and get my shit together quick. He could never miss. I’m sure he made us wait that long for that song for a reason. “The introlude” was more than what we asked from him. I love artist that out detail themselves in everything they do, whether it’s on or on the microphone.. J. Cole is a Goat. Since high school days his music has always remain relevant.
