It’s a bird, no it’s a plane! No it’s, Soulja boy! Ok enough. On today’s subject we’ll be covering one of the most influential, controversial, most talked about, admired artists of the 21st century. Introduced to the music industry with his first independent debut ” Crank that/Superman ” Soulja boy quickly rose to fame and ever since he has reflected an admirable consistency throughout the years by supplying the world with hit after hit, year by year.

The year is 2005, the birth of YouTube. We didn’t know what was coming, let alone the birth of a new generation of hip-hop, however, Soulja boy did.. According to major sources on the internet it’s reported that he uploaded the first Hip-Hop video months after it’s establishment. Popularizing YouTube As a platform for artists to gain followers and fans.
I believe Soulja Boy is the most influential artist of the 21st century OR owns a time machine. For almost a decade he’s maintained his relevancy, Whether it by sparking up numerous controversies and here’s what we know.

He was the first rapper to walk into Icebox ( An upper echelon jewelry store located in Buckhead, Atlanta Where major lable artists are spending thousands of dollars on custom jewelry ) Soulja boy literally has a video walking in before it became what it is today. Don’t believe me? Here. It could of just been for promo right? After all they may of just started business at the time and needed an artist to promote them; Just like it could of been him time traveling to get the footage and later use it to his advantage.
Ray J: “I hit it first”
Soulja Boy:

Soulja Boy was online claiming he was the first artist to do many things as a way to maintain his relevance algorithm. What’s ludicrous is the fact that there’s proof! *Nothing in relation to the pic of Kim K. above* Now don’t get me wrong, Soulja boy has been relevant for more than over a decade so it’s not obvious to say every moment after becoming famous was being recorded either by his entourage, himself or fans. Later uploaded/distributed online. But many of these things are actually being done modern day. Why did they record these things that would later be needed to mark territory as the pioneer of such gesture? You just don’t do certain things and record yourself doing it. Seems a bit too obvious right ?
The first rapper to wear BAPE. A clothing brand that is currently still doing collabs with major artists, athletes, political figures, ECT. Literally he made a song about wearing BAPE. I’m serious.
“Aye Rab mayne i just got back from the mall mayne guess what I got?
[A-Rab:] What you get Soulja Boy
[Soulja Boy:] Mayne I got me some bathing apes.
I got me some bathing apes…” Source: LyricFind

The first rapper to create a video game system. This one really hit home if you ask me, he was literally sued by Nintendo and was told to stop manufacturing the console due to copyrighting infringement. Although you’re still able to purchase a refurbished console online.

He introduced us to many of the most talented artist
Ranging from, Chief Keef, Tyga, ECT. Rappers who are still selling out shows mid 2021. It’s incredible the amount of credit he is not being gifted.
He Helped Pioneer Troll Culture
Remember when he was going back and forth with Ice T and Bow Wow? We now look back at that beef like it was a fun time to be alive. Whether it was real or not we enjoyed every bit of it. So much that now in days other rappers like 6ix9ine, trippie red, Lil Yatchy are persecutors of the same tactic to generate online views.
*Click Play, the video may look corrupted but it’s not, it’s that… since this blog is non-funded, just me volunteering-ly adding stuff to it and keeping it groomed is what’s keeping it alive. Hope you’re having a good day.
I’m really proud of how far Soulja Boy has gotten, I appreciate his consistency and hustle. Lyrically not impressed but motivation-ally obliged. Let me know what you think, if you think these theories are way off or way too obvious I’m open for criticism and room for improvement is available! I personally think he has a time machine AND is one of the most influential artists of all time.
